Classic. It sounds like a sale.
And when they say "You're position has been eliminated," I would love to be able to say, "Oh, I see. What will my new position be?" or "Which job am I being switched to?" Because I'm guessing that would make it a lot more awkward for them when they have to actually tell you you don't work there anymore, and it should be awkward for them. Why should they be comforted by being able to hide behind corporate layoff speak? We shouldn't have euphemistic language for firing people.
