Your mum .. well her attitude really stinks and as a mother myself I am entitled to say that.
My son Matthew has his first cricket match this Saturday. I hate cricket and find it overly boring to watch .. BUT this is my child and it is HIM playing out there so the very least I can do is go and support him and cheer him on. It may cost me a few hours of sitting bored in the sun but so what? ... he will know I'm there for him and I'm not overly wrapped up in myself and I spend too much time as it is on the comp when he's at school.
And I know sports mums and dads who are reliving their youth through their children and are plain mean to them and put them down. I just want Matthew to have fun and learn some new skills. It isn't about the winning, it's about the personal growth and fun. I wish more people would leave children to be children and enjoy their time.
