Lessons from Narnia: Introduction

Recently, someone told me that he thought that The Chronicles of Narnia were just children's books and had no spiritual significance whatsoever. !!!! After I picked myself up off the floor and started breathing again (well, not really, but close), I clarified what he said because I didn't think that anyone actually believed THAT. That's funny - my journey into fantasy literature is nearly identical. Magic and fantasy were anathema in our home growing up. I wouldn't have anything to do with them as a teenager, and secretly (sometimes openly) condemned those who did ( ... )

I wondered as much from things you had said on some of your blog posts...it's nice to know I'm not the only one who was an adult before reading Narnia!

I'm very much enjoying Tolkien after being "emancipated" as well...being a girl, I'm not too "into" all the battles and such, but his writing...! So amazing...I love words...
