Sorry that I didn't clarify...I guess I just assumed that everyone knew who Jim Elliot was! No, he didn't write "All Creatures Great and Small"...that was James Herriot. The Jim Elliot that I quoted was a missionary to Ecuador in the 1950s...he, along with four other male missionaries, was murdered in January of 1956 by Auca (an Ecuadorian indian tribe) warriors. His wife, Elisabeth Elliot, is one of my favorite authors.
