When I use tampons (I switch between instead cups) I use ob's. I started using them in middle school because I could walk out of class with one in my hand without the cackling boys. I buy super size (sometimes ultra) and they last wonderfully; I would go through the regular in 2 hours easy. Have you called around to see if other places have the larger sizes.
The first two times I used a liner or pad as well. They tended to leak, but after the third time I figured out just the right angle and they are great. I go 11 hours easily, and they make for less messed up sheets during... special times;) The down side. When you need to change a tampon you get that internal warning and have maybe 20 mins to get to the restoom. With insteads there isn't much warning. I used to get caught with 5 mins. Now that I have used them for a long time I just know when it is time and it isn't an isue. I love them. Everyone I know that uses them, loves the, but they all say the first few times they weren't so sure. Oh, they say not to rinse and reuse... I have to admit i do sometimes.
drug store, maybe? I don't use the silk ease, but they have the regular ob's in boxes with multiple sizes here (you know, for variations in flow)...would you want me to send you a box of those, Beth (if you can't find them there), so you can figure out which ones you need?
Please excuse a random comment, but I too enjoy the Silk Ease OB's. I've thought about why they only come in regular and I think it's because if you're having trouble inserting a super, then maybe they figure it's best that you downgrade to a regular?

I've NEVER been able to figure out the non-applicator thing... It HURTS, damnit.
I go with paper applicators.
