Day 5: Meta!
Write it, link to it, comment on it - doesn't matter! The only qualification is that it needs to be in SOME way about women. As always, I leave it up to your discretion with this, because this is YOUR challenge - I am just the crazy making the posts. ;-) (And if you want to write meta - don't be intimidated! Some of the best meta I've ever read has been only a few sentences long. I've been blown away by the intelligence and thought put into the responses so far, so I PROMISE that done of you have anything to worry about.)
ETA: As
vertical_chaos was so nice to point out, I forgot the definition! *headdesk* The definition of meta that I usually use for fandom is just anything that discusses a show or its characters in some kind of analytical fashion, and inspires discussion. (For example, a post that was just a pickspam of Buffy's clothing over the course of the show probably wouldn't be meta, but if there was an accompanying analysis of how the change in clothing reflected her character development, then it would be meta.) The important part (And please feel free to disagree with me on this!) is that it inspires discussion. If you are at a loss of where to start looking, a good source for some meta is
metafandom and they have a very nice search engine set up. So sorry about any confusion I may have caused!
Poll (Just a reminder, I know that I've said this before, but
the previous challenges are open until I make the round up post sometime next week. So if this week has suddenly turned into the week from hell, don't sweat! I am aiming for Wednesday to post this list, so it will probably end up being Thursday, which gives you an extra 4 days to catch up in! \0/ And I am a laid back person, so if you wanted to respond to one of the challenges and be added to the master list later, I can be bribed with gratuitous chocolate ... :o)
