Nicholas Rush was a manipulative bastard - everyone on this ship knew that. Hell, most of them didn’t even have a problem telling it to his face. His reply was always the same though - the roll of his eyes and quiet dismissal. In the same breath, if Rush wanted something, he was going to take it and he had no qualms about lying or betraying the other’s trust to get what he wanted.
Which was how he’d gotten Eli naked and pinned beneath him on Eli’s bed, lips locked in desperate kisses while hands explored each other’s bodies. Eli had been moping in the control room, something about Chloe and Scott sleeping together and it wasn’t fair because he liked Chloe long before Scott did - which Rush doubted, but didn’t comment on - and it seemed like the only way to get Eli to shut up at the time, because Rush was sick and tired of high school trivialities. They were on a an ancient space ship, millions of years old, who knows how far from home, traveling faster than light - not a goddamn gymnasium where it mattered whether Chloe chose Eli or Scott to take her to prom.
Which is when Rush decided Eli was too flighty, too distracted, and if he ever wanted to get anything done, he’d need Eli to trust him explicitly. To trust him, and only him. Eli was far too friendly with Colonel Young and that could only spell disaster for Rush in the long run.
Eli was far too easy to manipulate and that almost disappointed Rush. They’d only kissed twice before Eli practically jumped him, but Rush could use that to his advantage. The younger male was moaning his name and cursing under his breath as Rush moved inside of him, alternating between biting and kissing his chest and shoulders. His hands bruised Eli’s hips where he held him still. The more marks the better because Eli would look at those and remember.
He’d remember that Rush didn’t ignore him - not like he ignored the others. He’d remember that Rush mapped every inch of his body with his tongue that he could. He’d remember that Rush had taken an interest in him while Chloe was too busy going down on Scott to even remember to meet him for lunch. He’d remember all of these things, and it would only be the first step to get the younger male completely dependent on him.
Rush grunted when he collapsed on the bed next to Eli, staring up at the ceiling as he tried to catch his breath. He hadn’t expected Eli to fall asleep in the tense silence, or to try to snuggle against him as he climbed out of bed and got dressed. Hesitantly, Rush grabbed the blanket that had been kicked to the floor in their desperation and draped it across Eli before he left.
If Eli had been upset, he didn’t say the next day and it was only a week later before he hesitantly kissed Rush when they were alone in the control room. Rush’s victory hadn’t been assured yet, but Eli wasn’t so annoying that he hated spending time with the younger male. It was only a matter of time and Rush was a patient man.
