i know there are one or two books that could be considered the definitive american history book. i know there's
a people's history by zinn but i'm actually looking for the more standard definitive one, you know, the one a right winger could conceivably read without going into a fit of apoplectic rage,

yeah the home defibrillator scares me because I would probably kill someone trying to bring them back to life!
But there must be other mischief you can accomplish with it. Can you imagine some kids going after their poor dog with it?

My AP US history book from the days of yore [6 years ago!] was actually not too bad but I can't remember its name. :(

my AP US history book was pretty good too! i don't remember what it was but it was divided up into two parts and it was remarkable evenhanded about american's good and bad past. although i guess it probably offended some republicans because of that!
