The tremendous thunderstorm last night....

Led to a power outage of about an hour, which ultimately led to my staying up until 4 a.m. (the power was back on, but after the rush and flow of rain and winds, I couldn't get myself to sleep), which led to my sleeping through all four (count 'em four) alarms this morning

What is awesome about dreamwidth? I've heard three references to it today.

As of right now, it's mostly the: No ads/annoying full screen ads, a cleaner interface, and crossposting ease.

I grabbed my account when LJ went through one of its fandom kerfluffles a few years back. (One of those incidents was a catalyst for the groundwork of Dreamwidth. http://fanlore.org/wiki/Dreamwidth) And, yeah, admittedly, I like their ideals/values: http://www.dreamwidth.org/about

Will they be upheld? Probably not...but right now, it's a decent place to mirror/have back up journals and make some new acquaintances.
