How did you like your getyourwordsout experience? I'm kind of thinking about signing up for it next year, but since all the entries are locked, I'm not sure.
I really haven't done much as far as the community goes...
I use the word tracker spreadsheet and do the monthly word count check-in (which is the only thing you have to participate in if you want to remain a member; you won't, however, be kicked out for not meeting your word count).
It's been a nice little set up for me. Having accountability to report a word count every month is motivation for me to scribble something.
There is a community chat room for participants to do word wars. Some people post excerpts for critique. And I think they were posting writing prompts at one point (but I'm not sure if that's still going on).
I'd say go for it. It's a nice little side project.
