Very interesting and well-done! I like the contrast between Holmes' coolness and Mary's warmth, and your description of how that coolness extends to Holmes' emotional life as well.

I just wanted to bang their heads together by the end - Holmes and Mary need to sit down and workshop how to be more like each other.

"Holmes’s heart is more akin to eyes; both were schooled early in life to reveal nothing."

Love this.

I am not, and I would not ever wish to be the kind of man who would be satisfied with so little.

And this.

And Mary, leaning her fingers on the windowsill to they will be cold... ♥.

I love how you use language and how you craft your sentences. Beautifully written. Thank you very much for sharing.

Thanks!

Mary is a perfect woman for either of them really, pity they don't deserve her.

Oh my god, this is exquisite. So, SO good. Just the right degree of angst, and sexy, too, and I LOVE what that ending bit says about Mary's character, and...just...GUH. Brava!

*bows, then blushes*

You know, I never thought much of canon Mary (she doesn't seem to exist) but fandom Mary is so amazing; intelligent and understanding and complicated and I'm glad that I did her justice.

Thank you for your beautiful feedback.

Thank you kindly, random. The kink meme prompt just sort of spoke to me.
