Greetings, Rianna, says Tom, giving the snake a small bow. Then he spends the next several minutes in awe, just staring at the books.
"Oh," he says, pointing to a book that in his time was exceedingly rare and hard to come by, "I have that one." He touches the spine of the book wth one finger, amazed. "I think it's that very one. I had no idea it had been yours."
"That particular book was given to me as a gift from my lady's grandfather when on his deathbed. He and I shared a common love of the pursuit of knowledge."
He goes to a particular desk under one of the windows and ruffles through some papers.
"Aha! This scroll," returning to Tom, "has the original drafts for that book." He hands it over for Tom to inspect.
He examines the scroll, translating the ancient Latin easily. Whilst the book might be old, the facts within it are sound, if presented in antiquated form. "There's a library in Amsterdam, the largest in the Wizarding world, that I visited lately. I spent the day there, but I could easily spend weeks in this library."
Well this has certainly turned into an ego-boost for Salazar.
"Well, perhaps the texts were lost over the years. You'll just have to take some of these and preserve them. If not by taking the actual texts, then by copying down the information in them."
