Yuletide in a day.

Dec 16, 2007 16:06

4:10pm I have an open, blank Word document and notes from last night scrawled on the back on an envelope. So far, today, I have: slept until one in the afternoon, read some livejournal posts, talked on the phone with R, eaten two pieces of toast with pumpkin butter, and read some irrelevant canon in the bathtub. Read some fic by my recipient. ( Read more... )

My jealousy: unbounded. But I am so close myself! I mapped it out today, and I plan on doing something like this tomorrow to finish up the last two thousand words.

Oh my god. I am infinitely jealous of your ability to just sit down and draw out a story, even if it does require much procrastination. *bows in awe*

(I have been writing mine in tiny useless snippets for three weeks. THREE WEEKS.)

It is this time of year when I find myself getting nostalgic about Redwall days. Perhaps it has something to do with having cold feet. I remember pressing myself up against the terrible tiny heater in the computer room and shivering through Collinsel RPs. I remember the terrifying (and thrilling) creak of one of my parents wandering into the kitchen and then hovering in the doorway for a moment to ask me if I knew what time it was. Of course, I always knew what time it was. I was keenly away of it being 2:00, 3:00, 4:00 in the morning. I liked it best when we had a lamb that has been orphaned, or rejected by its mother so that I could claim I was staying up late to do that cold middle-of-the-dark-night bottle feeding.

"the alphabet guerillas", if spoken aloud, sound positively child-friendly.

Listening to Elliott Smith on repeat, which is not exactly the most proactive music in the world.

Hahahaha, very true. Elliot Smith is really kind of the musical manifestation of entropy, isn't he? :? But I find it strangely conducive to achieving a certain mood if I'm writing. I was listening to the first CD obsessively when I first got involved in fandom, so every time I hear it, that first fandom excitement comes flooding back. Useful, in its way.

Secret of Roan Inish soundtrack

Oh, I love this one! I haven't listened to it in years, though, since I only have it cassette form -- I should do something about that.

What a delightful entry! And by the way, congratulations!
