chapter 1 last time:
“So Sakito, what’s up with the flower guy?” Uruha asked.
“This has nothing to do with Ni-ya. And how the hell do you know about this?” Sakito asked miffed that Uruha, queen of gossip, knew of his personal strife.
“The whole building knows honey.” Uruha said flippantly. When an interested sound escaped him.
“Who’s this Ni-ya guy?”
Sakito didn’t even realize that the name had popped from his mouth. Oh god, what now…
Ok, play it off. Be cool.
“No one, Ni-ya works at the flower shop.” Sakito said, maybe the info would make Uruha go away. No such luck.
“What if he’s the one sending you the flowers?” Kai asked excitedly, his eyes wide and shiny. He looked like an anime character on meth.

Ch.2
“First of all, everyone knows that spiders are my favorites, so it could’ve been anyone. And secondly, I’ve known Ni-ya for a while now. He’s not that type of person.” Sakito said dismissively, but he couldn’t help the way his heart fluttered at the thought.
He’d known Ni-ya for over a year now and the tall quiet man didn’t seem the type to do such sappy things. He worked at the flower shop and he played the bass-really well in fact-and he smoked, more than Sakito did-which reminded him that he’d promised to quit a while ago. But sometimes stress got to him and the nicotine relaxed him…
That and hanging out with Ni-ya at the flower shop, talking to him or listening to him play. Ni-ya had been the one to make Sakito start playing the guitar and playing with Ni-ya was both fun and relaxing.
But the man had a girlfriend and he was forced to remind himself of that fact every time they were alone and it was quiet and he got comfortable in Ni-ya’s presence.
Too comfortable.
“Besides,” He added dejectedly, “he had a girlfriend.”
“No, he doesn’t.” Hitsugi said, a wrinkle marring his smooth forehead as he scrunched his eyebrows.
“Yes he does. I saw them talking together just last week.” Sakito refuted, telling himself not to grow hopeful at the possibility.
“Nooo… he broke up with her like two months ago and she keeps bothering him so they can get back together but he doesn’t want to.”
“And how do you know this and not me?” Sakito asked feeling a little betrayed-he’d known Ni-ya longer, why didn’t Ni-ya tell him?
“He didn’t tell you?” Hitsugi asked perplexed. Those two were pretty close. Much more than acquaintances.
“That proves it!” Yomi exclaimed loudly. “He’s the one. If he wanted you to know he was available he could’ve told you, but since he didn’t he wants you to think it’s someone else that’s been sending you flowers so that he can reveal himself as your knight in shinning armor.” The tiny man proclaimed as though this were concrete fact.
Everyone -even Kai, who in his heart of hearts wanted to believe it was so-was looking at Yomi as though he were insane.
“Are you mad?” Sakito exclaimed, his brows scrunching down at the preposterousness of the thought.
“Do you listen to yourself talking?” Uruha asked in disbelief.
“You’re jumping to conclusions again Yomi-kun.” Kai said.
One by one they shut him down.
“Maybe Ni-ya knows who’s been sending you the flowers.” Hitsugi, the voice of reason, said.
Everyone agreed with that and parted ways after they saw Aki coming back from Ruka’s office.
“Your boyfriend said to leave because he’s going to take a nap and he wants silence.”
“How is he a boss again?” Hitsugi asked perplexed, trying not to openly stare at Aki’s piercings, he himself a big fan of body modification and silver.
“Beats me.” Aki said dismissively before actually looking at Hitsugi.
“oh wow, those are pretty cool.” Aki complimented pointing to Hitsugi’s lip rings.
“Thanks, yours look good too.” He said referring to Aki’s nose, eyebrow and ear rings.
“Where do you get yours done?” Aki asked, intrigued at the young redhead.
“GO AWAY!” Ruka’s voice bellowed from his door, as he’d been disturbed by all the chatter.
“Yomi, go away. Hitsugi, leave. You can flirt with Aki when he’s not on the payroll.”
“I-I wasn’t flirting with him!” Hitsugi blushed, turning to leave in an indignant huff.
“That’s too bad, because I was.”
Everyone froze, smirking and outright laughing (Yomi) at the full blush and ‘deer-caught-in-the-headlights’ look on Hitsugi’s face.
“Here’s my number. Call me sometime.” Aki said stuffing a piece of paper in Hitsugi’s front pocket-very subtle, Aki.
Jeers and cat calls filled the office as Hitsugi forced himself to leave walking and not collapse and crawl to the elevators as his knees threatened to give out.
Ruka smirked and went back in his office closing the door and everyone went back to work as he went back to sleep. Even Sakito who couldn’t focus.
Could it really be Ni-ya?
Shaking his head he dismissed the thought, going back to work.
