Death messengers and pale vampires who grimace and whisper all the time..

Jul 04, 2009 01:30

I watched Ikigami. It was SloOOoW and running at almost 2.5 hours felt like forever. However, amidst a few unconvincing parts (I didn't like the scenes involving the bitchy politician and her hikikomori son) had a few brilliant and heart wrenching moments. Shota Matsuda was perfect for his role as the sympathetic newbie death messenger. I almost ( Read more... )

Meh, Twilight was a decent first book. The second.. started good-is and then it went downhill to the point I couldn't stand reading another word from it. So that's my experience with the books.
The movie isn't a masterpiece but it's watchable. But yes, I can see all vampires that ever existed in stories just slap their foreheads and hide in shame. But like you said, one can see why everyone loves it so much-

I never got the chance to watch True Blood. Yet, at least but I start to feel curious about it because I read people talking about it everywhere and it seems good!

The second book was that bad huh? I can see the viewer demographic they were aiming for.. but the fans seem really hardcore. The movie swept the MTV movie awards.

True Blood is similar to Twilight in that the main story is the romance between the vampire and human girl. But that's where the similarity ends. It's told in a completely different way.

Twilight fandom scares the hell out of me. It's like.. they are hysterical. They are beyond fangirling.

Sounds good. I have nothing against human x vampire relationships because I do like the idea and everything! When the DVDs come out here I'll try to watch it since the only channel that's airing the show is halfway through it D:

Seriously, I never understood why people are going crazy about Twilight, it's quite okay, but not awesome, and the movie is even better than the book, so...XD

Sou ne.. Really? I thought the book was a big hit and that's why they made a movie out of it. Oh well..

That's probably the case, but trust, the first book is very boring, and I'm not the only one who thought that way lol

Twilght was just corny. Cornier than the book, which was already extremely cliched and corny haha.

I haven't managed to sit down and watch Twilight yet. I'm actually not sure if I want to. I've heard so many mixed reviews I am just considering avoiding it.

I guess my problem with anything be it movie or book related to vampires is I have my own archetype of how they should be and very few books or films match that. Twilight is no where close to that.

30 Days of Night is the cloest any film has come to my vampire archetype in a long time. Now that movie is one I would recommend any vampire fan to watch. It's very good. :)

It felt like watching Vampires 90210 or something. The vampires don't die in the sun but instead sparkle like diamonds (huh?). But I really didn't have a problem with any of that. It's more the acting, the lines and how they were said. Well I don't think the movie was aimed for us anyway..

Watched 30 Days of Night. I liked it. Can't remember but I think I didn't like the ending so much.

Lol. Why were you pissed off? You won't miss much unless you're a fan I guess.

Luckily I caught True Blood when it was showing on HBO Asia. But I can't wait so I'm depending on the internet for season 2 xP It's quite a twisted show you should try it :D

Never heard of Blood Ties. I'll try and look for it. Thanks <3
