This is sad, isn't it? Almost too sad. I wanted to write about Adam but it turned into Sam and Dean as all my stories do. They are the Show. The changes in the relationship is frankly painful. I don't know if the Show will fix this in an emotionally satifying way. I hope so very much.

Sorry for the tearjerker. Must think up something lighter for next time!

This one depressed the heck out of me. But I met a couple of goals: 1) write a Dean POV w/ no cursing :) and 2) write another Dean POV -- truth is, the man scares me writing wise :)

A jillion years after it was actually written, an insatiable hunger for fanfiction draws me to this tasty morsel. I devoured it with the feral fury of a starving man, and for the moment... I am full. :)

TRANSLATION: This was good. Like, real good. So painful for Dean in pretty much every way, and poor, secret, dead Adam. ;-; AUs and what-could-have-beens are one of my favorite potential plots, for whatever reason, and this one was extremely well done. I loved it. So thanks for writing it!

Thanks so much! I'm thrilled when someone discovers a story after a little time has passed. I actually have plans to turn this into a verse of sorts. I want to write another 'wish verse' story. This time Dean would make the wish. It's started but then I got interrupted. If possible, I'll write it this summer. The return of Adam in canon surprised me. I always feel flattered when I have any ideas that ultimately sort of come to pass.

Tbanks! This was one of my earlier efforts. I have an edited version on my hard drive and I really do need to update to it. But the story is the same, just cleaned up. I didn't mind Adam. Although I'm not sure whether it helped to bring him back in S5, but that's another subject. I was fascinated though by the notion of Sam as not the youngest brother but a middle brother because it's such a radically different dynamic. This was fun to explore.

Thanks! This was one of my earlier stories. Pre-beta. Shudder. Actually, I have a beta'd version I need to edit and update one of these days.

I appreciate your reading and letting me know you enjoyed this. It's funny how the Show brought back Adam after all. I really never thought we'd see him again when I wrote this. But I did find the idea of shifting Sam to middle brother very intriguing. It would really be a game-changer in terms of dynamics.

I'd very much love to read the beta'd version. When a fic-writer friend beta'd one of my very short fics, I got to see up front just how much depth and clarity a good beta can add to a story. I'm fascinated by the process and would love to see what your beta added to this already excellent fic.

I agree that Sam as the middle brother would make for a very different family unit. I wish they'd used Adam more in the show since he felt so underutilized to me, but I guess it just wasn't something the writers were willing to explore. I'm still hoping, though! He's already come back from the dead once, so... *crosses fingers*

Re Adam, I'd be surprised if he didn't come back. Now who I really want to see back is John. But I don't think that's possible given the actor's popularity. But to me, there's unfinished business there.
