“I’ve never slept with a man.” A pause. “I never wanted to sleep with a man.”
Jared turns glazed eyes at Jensen. “One more,” he slurs.
“Supposed to be a lie, now?” Jensen asks.
Jared’s eyes grow huge. “You’re saying those first two are true.”
Jensen looks down. “No … not … shit, I didn’t mean. I got one more, right?” Jared nods sloppily, his neck looking like it’s only partially connected to his body. They really have tied one on. Jensen’s not sure how he agreed to this silly game. Tell me two truths and one lie. Dumbest ass idea in the world of dumb ass ideas.
Jared keeps looking at him. Smug, small smile.
“I want to sleep with you,” Jensen blurts out suddenly. He knows he’s going slightly red but can’t even say totally why. “Okay. Smartass. Figure it out.”
“Two are true and one’s a lie?” Jared asks.
“That’s what you said you wanted.”
Jared nods. “Easy.”
Jensen looks over at him as Jared plops his head on the back of the couch. The tequila bottle is on the table in front of them. Shot glasses lined up. Been a long night. He looks around … weren’t there more people here before? “Where’s everyone?” he asks suddenly puzzled.
Jared smiles at him. “Went home. Just us.”
Jensen doesn’t understand why Jared keeps looking at him in this odd way. He swipes his tongue over his teeth. Maybe he has something stuck?
“Stop.”
“Stop what?”
Jared shakes his head. “I believe you never slept with a man.”
Jensen smiles. “You sure?”
“You never said you did.”
“Didn’t necessarily tell you everything, Sasquatch.”
“Yes you did.” Jensen smiles again as he watches Jared swipe his hand through his hair. “But … but, if that’s not true … the other two don’t make sense.”
Jensen fishes for the bottle. “How so?”
“If you never wanted to sleep with a man, then why would you want to sleep with me?”
“So is that your final guess? First was the lie, last two were true?”
“What?” Jared moves forward and rests his elbows on his knees. “No. That’s not … you got me all twisted up.”
Jensen laughs. It’s a deep laugh and he feels it low in his gut. “C’mon man, can’t be that hard.”
Jared purses his lips, twists them left and right in a way that makes Jensen a little dizzy for a moment. Maybe it’s the alcohol.
“First two are true,” Jared says finally. His tone is light but his eyes. His eyes are anything but as they peer back at him beneath tousled bangs.
Jensen stares at the colors swirling … bluegraygreen … lit with … need.
He inexplicably feels stone cold sober. “Yeah,” he says softly. “They are.”
Jared is closer suddenly. Not sure when that happened. Face close enough to smell, to taste. Jensen licks his lips unconsciously.
He’s met with a small smile that barely lets a dimple show. “Thought I told you to stop that.”
Jensen is about to ask what Jared’s talking about when he’s stopped by the press of Jared’s lips to his own. He’s too drunk for this and he’s not drunk enough and suddenly the room is devoid of all air. He doesn’t actively open his lips but they part anyway and he feels a hot, wet intrusion. Seeking and filling and playing with his tongue like a cat with a new toy. Short, playful swats that burn.
“I lied,” Jensen gets out between panted breaths.
Jared sucks his tongue and tastes his gums and presses himself harder, angling them impossibly closer. “Wh-?”
“The lie was a lie.”
He’s tilted down until he feels the cushions pressing against his back and the ridiculously long length of Jared’s body pressing against his. “Fuck that. All three were lies.”
Jensen hitches his hips up and the friction slices through him like a molten spear. “Uhh … well, yeah.”
Jared kisses his smile away. “I don’t care. Now. Now, tell me two real truths and one lie.” Jared pulls up when he says this. His face is flushed and his gaze still opaque but steady.
Jensen’s heart pounds jackrabbit-fast in his chest. He swallows hard. “Want you naked. Want me naked.” He stops. Jared hangs over him waiting, lips curved in a sexy grin. “This is just a wild drunk night.”
Jared doesn’t say anything. They can’t deny they’ve been drinking and Jensen thinks he just ended this right here. He wants to stop and he wants to start and somehow both are suddenly threatening to bring tears to his eyes. He stills and waits.
Jared leans in, bringing his lips near Jensen’s ear, breath ghosting the side of his face. “Truth.” He places a kiss to Jensen’s neck. “Truth.” His lips trail lower and settle in to suckle his collar bone until Jensen feels the heat flush down his chest. “Lie,” he says finally, returning to rub Jensen’s lips with a hungry moan.
“We clear?” Jared asks, rising up above him one more time. His eyes look deep blue. And sure.
Jensen blinks against the warmth of the liquor flowing through his veins. He’s turned on and he’s scared and he searches hard. But he sees only truth. “Yeah,” he replies on a half sigh as Jared’s lips meet his again. “Absolutely.”
