This was beautiful. So many lovely passages I just had to quote my favorites, each of which made my heart ache:

Fucker asked him to live. Which was hands down the last thing Dean wanted to do.

Dean had accepted this with no small sense of irony. Between him and his Colt, Dean was by far the more dangerous of the two.

And who was left to say thank you? One washed up hunter that Dean couldn’t bring himself to call and an angel trying to take care of the mess left upstairs

Thank you. sammyndeansgrl1 wrote mostly RPS (J2). They were emotional and romantic and just sang to me. One of the only writers I tended to go back to and reread when I needed to feel that glory of love. Lately, she and I had exchanged notes via comments. She said I was good for her, she'd been struggling with the writing and hearing that she reached people helped. I was stunned at the news. She will be missed.

Gorgeous story, filling in some holes. You had me in tears at the end and then I saw the dedication and my throat filled. If it's any solace, this is a fabulous, bautiful tribute to a friend.

Thank you. I didn't know the writer personally. But we had exchanged comments many times and I expressed how much I loved her J2 stories. It was sad to hear of her passing.

Oh man, this is really painful but perfect for Dean. I loved his anger in general but then the anger at the idea of Castiel taking his memories--wow.

Thanks. It felt true for Dean in my mind. Not sure if the Show will go this dark. It tends to shy away. The Castiel part worked really well for me. Because no matter how much it hurt there's no way Dean would give up knowing what Sam did.
