The Art of Listening

I enjoy picking up a book and opening it at a random page and then peering curiously to see what the pages have to tell me. Today, I did just that, playing with "Power of Now" by Eckhart Tolle. I have read about one more concepts called mirroring which says when listening to others dont just listen but also breath at same pace as they do. This will built comfort between listner and speaker.

Actually interestingly, I have tried this exercise of keeping the same rhythm as the person I'm walking with. With some, it's an easy blend. With others, there eventually is an out-of-synch and kind of irks me :) So I try all over again to keep in step and rhythm! :D

sandy, i had never thought about listening without the mind interfering.. this was an eye-opener! i let these lines sink in for a few moments and it seemed to make real sense.. enriching post! :) oh yeah, this is radhika! :)

could not agree more :) but whta abt stuff like "listen to ur heart than mind blah blah" i don't understand tht funda :P i usually make my decisions using my brain :D

I recommend this book. If you read with an open mind, and if it appeals to you, you'll realize how conditioned we are. :) I dont want to say more and impression your mind :)

Was presented the same by my buddy who swears by its teachings, about 2 years ago. Still haven't gotten round to reading it :-)
Still, if it helps somebody, it's all good I 'spose.
