[RL, Nabooru & Kuja: Gerudo Valley: Hyrule]

Jan 18, 2008 12:51

Nabooru was returning from the horseback archery range, having gone up there to stave off her boredom, when a strange light struck the entrance to the Fortress. It wasn't long before she heard shouts, and she jogged down the path to see several sisters blocking the entrance, weapons drawn - it was then that Nabooru remembered that even though she ( Read more... )

"Hyrulian magic, to be precise. Magic is seen as a gift of the Goddesses, and is bestowed on very few people. I just happen to be one of the chosen."

She shook her head at his question. "I don't worship often, no. The Goddesses have bestowed their trust upon me, so I don't feel the need to leave tributes at their feet," she said. "This temple is a safehouse of sorts; we keep our own treasures within, and I have my own wing as well that I live in. There is also the Hall of the Snake - a large room that was most likely used for tributes to the Goddesses decades ago, but is now mainly empty. It was the place where he chose to reside, so very few people enter there." She gave an unconscious shiver at the thought.

She paused, looking over her shoulder at Kuja, an eyebrow arched. Just how much should she tell an outside of his power, his reign of terror, his thirst for ultimate power? Lowering her eyes, Nabooru sighed, then strode to the center of the room, looking back and forth, making sure no one else was in the temple except themselves. Once reassured of this, she walked back to Kuja, beckoning for him to follow her.

"I don't care to discuss it out in the open like this," she said, her voice solemn. "We'll go to the Hall to talk this over. Please, follow me."

With that, she started off for the Hall of the Snake, listening for Kuja's bootheels to follow. Just how much would be too much to tell? He does seem like a polite one...he certainly knows how to treat royalty, but...just how trustworthy can he be?

Pausing at the entrance - at the belly of the Snake-Woman statue, rather than the secret door through her (now demolished) face, Nabooru pushed the door open, then stood aside, gesturing for Kuja to step in before her.

He's beginning to ask too many questions.Closing the doors behind herself, Nabooru was silently glad the torches in the hall were already lit; there was no need to utilise Din's Fire for the time being, and it was probably already too much of a risk that she used Farore's Wind to transport them, rather than simply walk or take horses through the Desert. No matter ( ... )

Her hands visibly clenched at Kuja's blunt question. Her teeth gritted, jaw set so as to control herself from saying anything too brash.

"You recall how I mentioned that there is but one male born to the Gerudos, and that gives the male the right to be our King, regardless?" she said, voice cold. "That was him. The last King we had...was the one who tried to take over, who we had to seal away. He was a travesty to our people, decieving our allies, using the most underhanded of ways to get what he wanted.

"Including me." Nabooru shook her head violently. "I refused to have anything to do with him whatsoever, so one day..." she trailed off, straightening up.

"That's enough. I'd rather not discuss it at the moment."

['booru did suggest company! "Y hi thar mirror!"]
