So after ressponding to starlaiste about cuticle snips I got to thinking about the shit that us girls do. Then I started thinking that if she was scared that I could do her cuticles for her... Then I thought, even though I don't know her, if I was going to clip her cuticles I may as well paint her nails... then I thought that commonboy might ( Read more... )

Maybe you are just misinterpreting what they mean by choice.

It's not that being attracted to your own gender is a choice, but acting on it ("being gay", so to speak) is. It's like an alcoholic: they really want their sweet, sweet booze. Every time they succumb, every time they are pressured, everytime they find an excuse to drink, they make a choice.

It was "drink" / "not drink". Those were the options. They chose "drink." Their body wanted them to drink. They did not deny their body.

Similarly, everytime I (hypothetically, of course) rail a dude, I have made a choice. I could have not had sex with a man, and instead kept trying to find myself attracted to a woman. I could be with one regardless of attraction, merely because it's right(™). I could forego it all together, and not seek out companionship.

They are all choices. Maybe not easy ones, but choices none the less. I don't support it, really. But, it's true on a base level, I suppose.

You are right, when you put it that way the acting on your feelings totally a choice. I was more thinking that having those feelings isn't a choice (I think Indigo might have been too, but I'll ask her). A verbal (not the right word but you know what I mean) distinction has to be made especially if you are fighting people who do make that distinction all the time.

Sometimes I just wonder about people when they argue about something that seems very obvious to me.

Is your attraction to the opposite gender a choice? Then why would being attracted to the same gender be? It makes me think that maybe people are arguing two different things.

But then I remember people are stupid beyond reason.

Have fun when you sync up and go crazy at the same time, once a month, every month. Suckers!
