Bed wetting???

I'm so tired.  Markos is sort of self-training himself to get up to pee in the toilet at night - his pull-up is almost always dry in the morning these days.  This is great!  And it also sucks.  Because getting up to pee means getting me up - he can't deal with his zip-up footie PJs and the pull-up by himself.  Last night, I noted as I lay down that ( Read more... )

My 6 year old deep sleep bed wetter was totally cured by a week of wearing a pee alarm. malem. That's the brand. Read the reviews on amazon.

Verrrrrry interesting. Were you doing the sleep pee and everything? Because Zoe is like a dead body when we get her up to pee at night. Off to read up on Amazon.

Yes, and didn't wake up after peeing either. Now actually gets himself up from a sleep to pee. We did it in Auguat and have had zero accidents.

Go straight to undies for markos. They look different than girl undies anyway. You're just adding to the laundry if you have to change him into them every night. Also get him non footed jammies. Add socks if he's cold. H&M has fleece two piece sets right now.

But...but...but the footie jammies are so cuuuuute! And I loved them so much when I was little! But, yeah, if it is cute vs. sleep, yeah, sleep is gonna win out.

Yep, get that boy into 2-peice jammies and undies. Put a night light in the bathroom and tell him he is on his own. Maybe have a prize for him each morning that he doesn't wake you up but stayed dry. Kellan is waking up dry in his pull-ups lately too. I'm going to finish this package and then switch him to undies too.

This. There's no reason he needs to wake you up to pee - a few nights of training and he should be good.

Yeah, OK....will move to 2-pc jammies. (Even tho I have this weird love for footie jammies.) I don't know how easy it will be to convince him to do it without waking me (there's also the Fear Factor), but even if he still wakes me, 2-pc jammies plus regular undies will be sooooo much faster and easier than a pull-up and footie jammies.

All that said....he didn't wake me up at all last night, and this morning his diaper was SOPPING wet. I think because he didn't get a nap yesterday, and so was exhausted and slept like a rock last night. Zoe never gets a nap. Which makes me think that the bed-wetting is just a symptom of the much larger and more significant problem, which is that *nobody* in this house is getting as much sleep as we really need.....
