Why look! It's your friendly neighborhood Mr. Crawford who happens to be out washing his car today at 337 Brady Lane. Sure, it might be getting a bit chilly for that, but chores are chores, right ( Read more... )

Hold still, Nina, it looks like you could really use a rinse.

[Before she can react, the hose it turned on her. It's going to sting.]

[He turns the water off, for now.]

Hmm, and here I thought that would help!

[Guess who found that pod in the alleyway while walking home...]

What in the hay?

[Applejack pulls out the green thing to get a better look at it, scratching her head in confusion.]

That's gotta be the biggest Brussels sprout Ah ever did see...

[She experimentally prods it with her hoof, wondering where it came from.]

[It's squishy. Also, it's huge. It seems like it's sort of breathing, too.]

[Oh, breathing? Well, at least that means it's healthy.

Wait a minute, Brussels sprouts don't breath!

Concerned, Applejack puts an ear to the pod and gives a listen. Yep, sounds like someone breathing alright! That can't be good!

So now Applejack is trying to pull the pod open using a combination of hoof pawing and teeth tearing.]

Don't worry pardner, Ah'll get you out of there!

[Of course, the words of encouragement are kind of muffled by the bit of green pod she's pulling on as she says that...]

[Eventually she peels it open to find Theo peacefully sleeping inside. He starts to stir, though, once opened to the cold October air.]

Hnn....? What the hell...?

[Lyn is not sure what he thinks of Theo being so goddamn cheerful; he's not that well-acquainted with the guy, but he still recognizes that as belonging in the Weird As Shit category. But, well...who knows, right? Maybe he got laid or something. So, after a long moment of suspicious scrutiny, Lyn starts walking off...

...only to get hit square in the back by a jet of water hard enough to send him flying off the sidewalk and right into the street. (The edge, thankfully, not the middle.) This is what he gets for being as small and light as he is; momentum has never found it hard to make him its bitch.

But he's barely landed in the street before he's rocketed to his feet, propelled entirely by fury. He's wet, he's cold, and he is an exceedingly angry little demon.]

What the fuck was that for?!

[The clone simply smiles at Lyn, and continues spraying down the car.]

You're looking a bit ratty, Lewellyn, so I figured I'd help you out. You could do with a shower.

[Something is definitely not right here.]

And who the fuck asked you?! [But even as he yells, Lyn's brain - always wary and suspicious - is signaling warnings. The uncharacteristic cheerfulness had been bugging him from the start, but more evidence of something weird going on is rapidly piling up. Yeah, Theo is hardly the nicest guy on the block - hell, he's hardly the nicest guy in the room even when the room is otherwise empty - but there's a line between surliness and open antagonism. Blasting Lyn with water hard enough to throw him off his feet is practically an attack.

Besides, Lyn wouldn't necessarily say Theo likes him, but they sort of get along. Which is an arrangement sufficiently rare enough for the both of them that randomly harassing and insulting Lyn doesn't make sense. Plus, Lyn suspects Theo as being too angry and direct for this sort of bitchy passive-aggressiveness. This is way too mocking high school jock for him.

His mind is occupied ticking over all of this, but some things are so deeply ingrained they don't even require conscious thought to express.] ( ... )

No need to ask. Consider it a favor. Even despite that mouth of yours.

[That hose is getting pointed at Lyn again. Better act fast.]

[Getting soaked with a hose into the mailbox in front of their house was not how Rin wanted to start his day.]

OI!! What the hell you stupid old man?!?! [Storming over, dripping wet.]

[Especially not when that spray HURTS.]

"Old man"? Now that's pretty disrespectful. Don't make me turn this on you again, son.

[Rin's immediate insult to authority figures is to point out their age. Even if Theo was only four years older.]

I am NOT your son. [And bring it, he's got a mailbox door ready to throw back at you Theo.]

[Better aim fast, because this water is gravity-propelled and meant to knock Rin off his feet, at the least.]
