I've been thinking of going as a vampire. Halloween isn't so much about the costumes as it is about the booze, so I haven't really thought about that.

Oh, oh, I know! Drink red wine! Y'know, cause it looks like blood and all. You'd be a totally authentic vampire then.

Although Halloween was never intended to be about more commercialism and candy, I have to wonder if I did dress up in a costume whether I would get candy by partaking in this 'trick or treating' activity.

I wonder what kind of scary thing I should dress up as...

Uh, well, usually, the better your costume is, the more candy people will give you. I wouldn't dress up as a zombie or anything like that, though. You might offend someone.
