The coordinates The Shadow has sent land Myra in pitch darkness, surrounded by the smell of cleaning chemicals and dust. Only a step before her is an unlocked door, which will let her out under a stairwell. Apparently he makes use of a disused supply closet for his comings and goings here ( Read more... )

The familiarity is striking as by the time she reaches the door, she recognizes it, even through a number of attempts to update the decor of the building, as the Hotel Metrolite. At the door, she is bemused by the eyes peering out from behind it, and the sharp breath.

Myra walks inside, she's dressed in casual clothes that are slightly updated from her own era by a few years and gives a gentle smile that hides her nervousness.

"Vincent." She gives a partial bow to the agent. Somehow, simply saying 'hello' just doesn't feel right.

The old man at the door is leaning heavily upon a cane, and his white hair is more than a little thin on top, but when he turns back from locking up the door he grins. In that single expression is all the charm and vitality she's familiar with, even though the face is greatly aged. His voice, too, is little altered by the years. "Wow. I mean, the Chief told me, but... gee. Uh, I mean, sit anywhere! Can I get you anything?" Harry Vincent may be in his seventies, but there's something very boyish about him still.

The apartment is also old, but nicely furnished and fairly tidy. There is a television set and a few other modern conveniences she may not recognize, but they don't seem out of place.

His voice has not changed. This, and his natural charm causes her to smile broadly. The Harry Vincent back home is still very much the dapper young man, and it makes it odd to hear his voice coming out of this older gentleman.

"Thank you. Um, water would be nice." She finds a soft seat and is a bit surprised that it still has quite a bit of spring and plush still in it, even though it looks a touch faded.

He limps to the kitchenette, relying very much on the cane, but it is the sort of movement that betokens old injury more than some infirmity such as arthritis. Harry Vincent has taken his own scars in service to The Shadow. "It's... amazing to see you again. Sorry I don't look as good." He runs a hand over his receding hairline with a wink. "Is that Nexus place as interesting as it sounds?"
