Sanctuary Fanfiction Awards 2009: The Nominations
Welcome to the Sanctuary Fanfiction Awards 2009. We've had an outstanding response which has exceeded all hopes, aims and expectations. 48 titles by 27 different authors have been nominated in our 11 categories (Romance has now been subdivided into Adult and General). The calibre of the stories nominated, I'm sure you will agree, is phenomenal, with writers ranging from high school students to published authors.
Until March 16th, there will be a preview round in which you will get to start reading stories, but not vote. In the meantime we will start our "Author Spotlight" sessions every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday in the sanctuaryfic community, where you will get the chance to meet the people behind your favourite titles. After all, the best thing about fandom is the friends you can make!!
Before I announce the titles, I will explain the colour-coding system. Each story has been assigned a colour according to the rating the author has given in. Please bear in mind that our authors have carefully considered the rating of their story, and you should take into account the writer's warnings before reading.

Authors; I don't like to enforce big scary rules, but I would generally say that normal fic contest rules apply; please spread details of the awards far and wide, but please don't ask people / persuade people to vote for you.
Example:
"Guess what? I've had two fics nominated in the Sanctuary Fanfiction Awards. The site's here and voting will be opened on March 16th. You know, if I had to choose one of my fics to win over the other, I would probably go with...." That is fine. Great in fact. We love attention and we want you to be proud of the nominations that you have earned!
"Hey everyone. I've been nominated for a Sanctuary Fanfiction Award. Vote for me here" We don't like this so much. So please don't do it!

Also: We do have pretty banners on their way, I'm told, but due to real life issues they have been delayed. I'm sure that when they arrive, they will be made of awesome (and I shall go through on www.sanctuaryfiction.net and add the banners to your stories, when they get here... if I remember). However, if you wish to use something on your blogs / websites or even put something on your www.sanctuaryfiction.net story in the meantime, feel free to use either of the images below (these were, as you can guess, prototype banners).
