North Cyprus knew the sound of a kitten anywhere.

The little island was on his way from his room to continue exploring the Sanctuary when he heard a distinct 'meow,' which was reason enough for him to divert his course and make a beeline for the lobby. Latvia had described this place as a prison, so he would never have imagined finding a kitten. But that's where the sounds were coming from right? It had to be a kitten! Cyprus smiled to himself, hoping he'd be able to find some solace in feline form, and then...

Oh. The Cypriot stopped, huffed and pouted. It was Greece's cat.

Well, at least he had gotten close enough to confirm that there was a kitten in the lobby. But how was he going to get to it now? His brother was more in the favor of Greece, whereas he was the favorite of Turkey; to him that meant the cat was off-limits, so long as the Greek was playing with it. Greece wouldn't have noticed had it not been for the curious twitching of the kitten's ears which signaled the arrival of another. The kitten yawned a meow, turning her head and the Greek followed her line of vision. If he was amused, he made no expression of it when he saw the top of the smaller nation's head. His mind went to the Turk first but it made no sense; why would the old man be hiding? It wasn't in his character do do so when he was presence. A delayed thought occurred to him finally as he realized who it could be. He hadn't seen the boy in a long time and it was a surprise to see him here. Pleasant or not, it was too early to say.

'Miau,' the kitten went, moving in his hands, eyes bright and playful as it looked at the fez. 'Miau!'

Slowly, Greece set the kitten down, watching it race across the lobby, under the table and leaping on top of the furniture to get to the distracting hat. Standing on top of the couch, the she stretched a paw out, reach out for the tassel.

Northern Cyprus held his hand to his mouth and bit on his finger as he saw the cat coming his way, trying to stifle the gasp that was threatening to come out. Had Greece seen him, and that was why he set the kitten down? Or had he just grown tired of playing with it for a while? That had to be it; Greece wouldn't let him play with his kitten would he! No, of course not. The kitten had seen him. Not the Greek ( ... )
