It's for an environmental health and safety specialist position at the University of Baltimore - basically, making sure that the science department doesn't kill anyone or break any laws - which is fairly similar to what I did as an intern.

I really want this job. I mean, I'll take anything since I'm leaving my job at UMBC at the end of the month ( Read more... )

*laugh* Well, you might do fine on N2 if you have a really solid background in kanji! Since the way I learned was not very organized, I can read but I don't always know how to say the words. So I think I'll take N4 to help my friend and feel comfortable with the test, and then take N3 in the summer session. The only school around here that offers advanced Japanese classes is near Washington DC, which is like an hour away.

N2 is pretty hard from what I've heard, though. It's like the old N1 test. A friend of mine got a scholarship to Waseda (which is a good school too) with N3, I think. Good luck!!

hmmm.. i was told that the only difference is N3 as there was to big difference between the old N3 and N2, so the new N3 was made in order to make the difference smaller.

Well yeah i'm more comfortable with N3 because i know i can pass it. N2 would demand lots of learning from me.... but our teacher said that for TUFS you pretty much need N2 if you want to get there (temperately N1 is recommended
