Garage door repair

Our garage door bit the dust last night, and now we're in need of a new one. Does anyone know of a good company with reasonable prices around here (I'm in Encanto)? There are so many companies in SD, but very few online reviews. I know it's going to cost quite a bit to fix, but I'd rather not get overcharged if I can help it or get stuck with a ( Read more... )

Did the door break - like jump off the track, or someone plowed into it, or is it the motor on the lifty thing (technical terms) break?

The motor is fine, as is the spring, but the door itself is completely shot. The previous owners of the house (we just bought it a few months ago) had hit the door at some point, and the bottom panel was a little dented with a tiny crack. It started jumping the track about a week ago, and last night it came halfway off the track (top on one side, bottom on the other side) as well as half of the bottom panel literally coming detached from the rest of the door, and now the whole door is warped. Fun stuff.

If you have to replace the door it self, look at one of the foam core steel doors. Sorry, cant help with a company recomendation though.

Do you mean the insulated ones? I've heard those are great to have.
