Yes, I think a lot gets lost in the translation. Just the ads for the Dragonball Z movie last year made me cringe, the whole casting issue with Airbender, and I shudder to think about a live-action Cowboy Bebop being talked about. He makes a good point about superhero movies that seem to do well, but it seems like many cartoons don't. Especially something where a lot of it's appeal is its art style - as with Samurai Jack.
