Yeah...I noticed that, too. But it does make a certain kind of sense. 'Hell' is very ambiguous, indeterminate and hotly contested within Judaism. Whereas Christianity on the whole has more of a consensus on its existence. Plus, Christianity has Revelations right there.
And, again, it's not like Kripke has given a whole lot of screen time to Judaism in particular. He's gone back and forth between paganism, folk lore, urban legends, and Christianity. And I can't really blame him, as a show creator, we're just not that movie-adaptable a religion in comparison--Charlton Heston aside. It's not that we lack the interesting, apocryphal, creepy shit. It's just that ours spread out across thousands of years of midrash, commentary, and Talmudic writings rather than condensed into one nice volume.
(And I have a plot bunny regarding Jewish cemeteries/hunters that will not let go.)
Ooh! Write it! There just isn't enough fics with Jewish lore in them. I tried adding a Jewish "monster" in one of my fics, and it went really well, but I can't wait to read more!
