You know what? I used to think that Kripke was SPN god, etc and now he isn't because they just change things on a whim :( S1-3 don't have much in common to S4-5 except that there still is Sam and Dean and J2

I don't think they have little in common, I think they're different. In the earlier seasons (s1 especially), we had mostly MotW episodes, with little mytharc thrown in for good measure. In seasons 4-5 we had almost only mytharc episodes, and even the rare MotW episodes had at least one (not so small) part dealing with the mytharc.
For me, that got tiring. Season 1 will always be my favorite, even if SamnDean were still figuring stuff out (meaning even if J2 was trying to figure out who SamnDean ARE).

I just hope that S6 goes back to more of a balance between mytharc and the MotW

I'm not thinking about it.
I've discovered that, by ignoring everything people talk about, and by stopping to analyze the characters altogether, I enjoyed s5 a lot more.
Yes, analyzing the characters was 50% of the fun in s1, but hey, move on, right?

*lol* I'm the opposite. Even though Dean's my fav, I prefer writing Sam by a landslide. Took me, like, a year and then some to find a Dean voice I'm somewhat happy with . . .

It's kinda weird, cuz if I had to choose who I resemble most, it'd be Sam. I'm the geek who liked learning new stuff and wanted to stay in one place and didn't care much for hunting (or rather, doing what my family wants).
But as I said before, when I see Dean, I can't help but see that 4 year old boy from the pilot. That scene killed me ded.
