Well, Zachariah wants both boys to say yes. So, had it been up to him, they both would have gone back.
The thing I don't get is: Why is Dean Michael's vessel and Sam Lucifer's? Michael (as young John) told Dean that it's the bloodline. And, as Castiel was able to jump from Jimmy and his daughter without much difficulty ("it's in the blood"), it seems that the writers are making a strong point for the whole bloodline-vessel thing.
I agree that the Michael v. Lucifer, Cain v. Abel, Sam v. Dean thing fits nicely... but, couldn't Lucifer and Michael try and get the opposite brother as a vessel? Perhaps, both Winchesters were returned for fear that Dean would side with Lucifer out of spite?
tru-faith-lost already made this argument, actually. She thought it would be interesting if the same brother said Yes to both Lucifer AND Michael and let them battle it out inside him.
Technically, they can side with whomever they want. But it's another plot hole we'll never get the answer to (Just like the age old question of 'why me?).
Hi sweetie! I tried emailing you but been having a bit of computer problems.
Right now the show has to round everything up to fit whatever ending has been written and do it quick. Not many more shows till season ending. I read where they won't have this plot line next season and will return to more of the first and second season of helping people.
When you refer to bring Sam back or you referring to when gave his life for Sam?
I think our plot holes are going to become more and more with this story. Now God doesn't care? Last night brought as much confusion as sense. I guess maybe they have been toying with "faith??"
No, I meant those hunters just killed Sam, and he's in Heaven, so why bring him back and risk him saying 'Yes' to Lucifer?
I think that, if they don't have some sort of arc story to tie things up together, just fighting the MotW is gonna get real old real fast. After all, there's only so many salt&burns you can do before it's just fanfic-y.
Very true. I am not sure why they brought Sam but except for Dean? Maybe they finally will be having them standing together fighting. It looks like "God" gave them the command to breath again and remember. Now we have an angel who has lost faith, Dean losing more each second and Sam wondering just what to do.
Even if he does, bringing Sam back doesn't make sense. Michael (in Dean's body) would have a much easier time kicking Lucifer's @$$ if he's in the "wrong" vessel.
I think God isn't vacationing at all, and I think he wanted Sam back alive along with Dean. Why? I dunno. I'm hoping we'll find out, and I hope that Sam stops getting crapped on. And maybe someday Dean will actually stop looking backward and start moving forward. If he does, hopefully Sam will still be around.
I'm pretty sure Sam will end up saving the day (and the amulet. And Dean). As for Dean looking forward instead of back - come on, there's not much in his future to look forward to. I mean, he's at a point where he can't even kill himself cuz they'd just bring him back so... not much to look forward to. *pets him* But I'm so very tired of saying 'aww Dean' all the time. I want my kickass Dean back!
