I had never been entirely convinced by Torchwood and hardly saw any of the last season - Captain John Hart appearances not included for obvious reasons - because the 'solve everything by dithering and acting like Jack is the Messiah' frankly got right on my tits. Well I certainly don't believe nor thought for a moment that she is genetically Jack's child but that could be years of Highlander immortality sneaking in...

ps sorry to pull you in - I was perfectly prepared to wait til I got home to watch it but it was great to get to see it with people around to help pass comment on it.

My issues tend towards the 'Gwen was untrained with a gun til she joined and we really don't see them training much' and similar. I still tend to think of her as a bobby.

Or: If HM Victoria set Torchwood up to be THE alien crew in Empire how come there are so many other government groups with deeper connections? And why is Torchwood so small - why didn't it regrow in size after the London debacle or has Jack been systematically destroying Torchwood for years to protect the Doctor to the point where he now keeps it small and far from the centers of power...

Hmm. I think the daughter is what you see is what you get. I think we haven't seen the last of the big noisy explosions though.

And it's fun. Though a little more Captain John would help.
