*hugs back* I know it's tossed around quite a bit, but I can say with pride that I kept watch as the first non-White president of the USA was elected.

This is a welcome piece of history to view after being priveledge to more bleaker world events...911 live on television...the Iraqi war...the crippling of the world economy...all good fun, really.

I think the negative way the world has viewed the US for the past eight years can be compared to a girl with a bastard of a boyfriend. While she's with the guy you can't stand to around the girl, with the guy tagging along and ruining your night out, but once she realises she can do better and dumps the a-hole, you can get back to liking her again.

Bush and his posse are the bastard boyfriend. :) America is the naive girl who we now like to hang around, again.
