100 Thing Challenge: Clothes

Jul 11, 2008 07:38

This weekend I will attempt to get my clothes down to under 100 Things.

Guidelines:
1. A pair of shoes count as 1 item.
2. Matching items (like a suit coat & slacks) count as 1 item.
3. Undergarments will be culled for old, torn, etc. (Ew, TMI!) No decision on count yet <<-- loophole
4. On Monday: "Business" clothes will be donated to Dress for Read more... )

peace, 100 thing challenge, simplicity, life, home

I vote for no fewer than 14 pairs of undies, and absolutely no more than 21 pairs. If you skip laundry one week, you gotta be able to go two weeks here. But three weeks is a little much.

Bras are more personal. For my habits, I'd say 4 is a good minimum, 6 a good maximum, but every lady's habits vary there.

Okay. Sounds reasonable. Two weeks worth of panties. I will keep three bras: white, beige and black and maybe one more - my "sweat" bra. :)

If you've got 2 sweat bras, I might allow both of them -- if you've got back-to-back workouts or sweaty days before you do laundry, you might want the other one.

But 5 certainly sounds more than reasonable!

Oooo.. I don't know that I could do that. Collecting costuming/unusual clothing is one of my indulgences....

Since I'm making up the rules as I go along, perhaps period clothing or costumes would count as a "collection" and be one item. Anything goes here.

Thanks for reminding me about my ritual clothing in the chest, though. I'll have to count my shawl.

Thanks! I've finished the laundry and have started putting things out. I'll take a few pictures.
