a long day for cleanup

A's neighborhood participated in the city's Earth Day cleanup. The city dropped two dumpsters - one for trash and one for yard waste in the neighborhood. Volunteers arrived around 10 to start cutting the dense overgrowth along the grassy alley along A's property. Five hours later we are taking truckloads to the community dumpster. What a fantastic idea to build some unity neighbors, keep everybody's property values and interest in their neighborhood up. Awesome!

Some people didn't bother; but Harry, the coordinator for the neighborhood, would go up and knock on a door and ask permission for us to go on the property and clear out the visible or common fencelines. More often than not, people would say yes and then come out to help. A party of 5 workers can clear and haul more brush in 1 hour than one person could do in a whole day.

I'm hurting today, but I feel good inside!

Yep! We found it under a bunch of wild grape and kudzu in the back part of her fenceline. 45 minutes of hacking and we had it hauled in one piece into the truck bed and then into the dumpster.
