London, you ticked the wrong bloody box!

Thank you, London voters, for making me feel a little better about the fact I am leaving you in a weeks time. Aside from the the fact that the entire city has seemingly forgotten that Boris is INSANE, the BNP having a seat here makes my heart hurt. It's so off kilter with everything I love about this place ( Read more... )

I think it is normal. I hope it'll pick up for you dissertation wise this last week. I wanna call you Dr. Sam. :D

DR Sam?! I'd have to do a MA then a PhD after that to deserve that title. Considering I'm on the verge of mental breakdown from just a degree, I'm thinking this is something I'll never manage. ;)

Hmm...here a dissertation means you're writing your Dr. Kay then. Whatever. :D Doesn't change my crossed fingers.

Here you do a dissertation for an honours degree, which is around 10000 words. Then for a MA you do another, around 20000 words. Then for a PhD you do a huge massive thesis, how long that has to be I don't know because just thinking about it makes me hyperventilate!

Thank you for the crossed fingers. x

It is completely normal - I felt exactly the same when I was coming to the end of my degree. I promise you will make it out the other side alive, you're almost there ^__^

Thanks. It's just that no-one around me seems to be worried at all, and that's freaking me out even more!

I didn't know that about Stephen Laurence's memorial. God, that's awful. I've encounted very little of that the entire time I've been here - London tends to do a lot better with these things than the West Midlands, I've always thought.

as someone who has a master's degree in working with/counseling university students (no, really. i do! they make very strange degree programs in the us.) and as someone who has worked with uni students for the past thirteen years, i can say with some authority that what you're experiencing is way, WAY NORMAL. in fact, if you weren't a wreck, i'd worry that wreckage was a-brewin'. that probably doesn't help lots but... just know that you're going to be a-ok.

Ha, that's a great MA! Thank you. I just don't see any wreakage around me and that is making it worse in a way. I know deep down I'm overstressing but that doesn't make it stop!
