Too bad he's not reading the books. I'm almost done with book 1 and I love it. I hear you on the sex scenes. I feel weird watching those with my hubby. The Littlefinger scenes, especially! *realizes that sounds dirtier than it is to people who don't know what that nickname means*
keke. my dad has... never liked ready fantasy novels. not in english anyway. i always found it funny that he like ready fantasy in chinese, but he reaaaaally didn't like it in english. although occasionally he'll read whatever book i happen to leave laying around. (one time he read the Shopaholic book!! hahahaha. he was like: "shoot. this book is funny. D: i can't admit it... but i want to ask sami if the other books are good.")
i am half way through book 2 (desperately trying to keep ahead of the tv series. lol. i must say that i don't appreciate the second book as much as the first. it gets a bit ponderous and a little ungainly with the overabundance of characters.
i remember when... back in the ooooold days... when the interwebs were young and new... and we were all on GWAddiction....... and there was no livejournal...........
hahahahaha. i deliberately used the term 'old gw writers' because we are indeed old, but that's not what i meant. i just meant the people who used to write gw regularly but don't really post many fics lately. ^_~
i... liked the first book of GoT a lot. i'm not sure that i like the second book as much. it's starting to introduce too many characters for me. lol. i can be a bit simple-minded when it comes to my casual reading. you should give it a try?

LOL? Old GW writers? I don't really see GW writers as old despite the fandom being one of my oldest.
