Via Rose Fox at Publisher's Weekly, Suzette Haden Elgin, author of the Native Tongue books, founder of the Science Fiction Poetry Association, and author of The Gentle Art of Verbal Self-Defense has stopped blogging and sadder still, it appears her health will no longer permit her to write.

I can highly recommend her book The Science Fiction Poetry

I'm sorry to hear that, too. Her linguistics-based stories were very influential in guiding my own writing.

Elgin's Live Journal is wonderful. It has great stories back several years. I hope some techy people will archive it. (Her relatives don't seem very techy and might not manage to.)
