A/N: Just drawing inspiration from a conversation i had with She-who-wears-geek!glassess-like-a-FOX ;)

“Déjà vu… It’s a weird feeling, isn’t it? Don’t laugh, but I’ve always been fascinated whenever it happens to me, and I have this theory. I think it has something to do with premonitions in dreams and destiny. Fates way of telling you this is exactly where you are supposed to be. Right here, right now, doing this. Any doubts you might have, all those questions about the decisions you’ve been making in your quarter life crisis can be answered with that distinct feeling of belonging, of simple significance.”

“So, what you’re saying is that Fate wants me to be highly caffeinated?“ Brooke half joked.

“Hey! I was being serious.” Sam stated mock indignantly.

“Okay well, if you’re serious then color me intrigued. Sammy: what is Fate trying to tell me?” Brooke inquired resting both elbows on the small round trendy table and then supporting her head by placing her chin on balled fists. Posing so that all of her attention was directed towards her former arch nemesis.

Sam smirked “I don’t know, I’m not Fate. I’m Sam!” the brunette smiled cheekily and sipped her coffee before continuing, “But lets dare to interpret her little scheme, shall we? What were you looking at before you felt the déjà vu? And what did you see?”

Brooke took a breath and brushed a lock of hair behind her ear, “Well okay there was that abstract I was admiring behind you… then… you, and then you were smiling. Then I looked out the window and a white Mercedes pulled in.” Brooke paused thinking, “And then I was looking at you again and you were looking out the window and then you looked at me and you asked me to pass the sugar.” Brooke finished cocking her head to the side appearing befuddled; she sensed the recurring theme and smiled to herself. I’m so gone for this girl!

The cheerleader wondered if Sam would pick up on it as well. Speculated on the idea that this conversation would lead Sam to draw the conclusion that was clearly written in the stars: That she and Sam were so obviously meant to be! Brooke was supposed to be with Sam, watching Sam smile and passing her sugar for the rest of her life. Because that is what Fate had to be saying, right?

“What do you think?” She asked her brunette housemate lightly chewing on her bottom lip in anticipation.

“Umm,” Sam shifted nervously. “You need a new car?” She ducked just in time so the flying packet of Splenda whizzed above her stubborn cranium. “Jesus Brooke, why would you do that? You know I hate artificial low calorie sweeteners… they’re like Demon Sugar. It’s not right…”

Fate sighed as she watched the exchange take place like so many times before. Back to the drawing board… Again.
