I've come to this long after it wa written, but I'm so glad I found it. What a fascinating concept- not just "he was lost but we rescued him" but you had him adapt, you made him change, as people do. The depth of this is not something you see often, so thank you. As for pairings, Carson/John is my secret pairing- I'm a McShepper, but you made their separation real; when people change, so do their relationships. And Rodney/Evan/Chuck isn't a triad I can honestly say I'd previously considered but you made it so believable that when Rodney was insecure about it I was cheering him on! Sorry for the stupidly long comment, thank you so much for writing this! T x
I'm glad you enjoyed it! :-) And I've seen a few similar stories, but they glossed things over, and I've always been intrigued by the whole "well, *how* did he deal with it?" And the Rodney/Evan/Chuck triad wasn't something I had expected to happen at all, but when I was working on the story, it just happened organically and I couldn't pass it up.
And I *really* don't mind the "stupidly long comment" - I quite enjoyed it. Thanks for sending feedback. :-D
This was great, took me ages to read it but I really enjoyed it. Felt so sorry for Sheppard and Rodney in parts but I really love a happy endding and this was great.
