Oh, honey. Reading the stuff about how your dad talks to you re: eating and weight makes me really sad. Is there any chance telling him firmly that you don't want to hear ANY comments about either subject would do some good? It's really, really not fair to you. *Hugs*

I've tried, and it doesn't seem to make any difference.

For the most part, though, I try to not let it get to me too much and I've been working on it in my own way and on my own time and just keeping a good attitude about the whole thing. Because a lot of what he says, I can't help but think, "Do you hear what you're saying and how stupid it is and how much like a child you sound?"

Though, I'm sure that one of these days, I'm *really* going to go off on him and it's going to be bad, but then in retrospect, it'll be really funny.

Hello, dear. You could tell your dad that you and I have been dating since college and we're moving to Massachusetts with Patch so that we can get married and adopt some babies. I'll back you up :)
I'm glad you're going to a Phantoms game; unlike the Flyers, they've been doing all right this season.
And remember, if you ever decide to blow up at him and need a place to escape, my house is always open.

Hey, babe. LOL. I really like that idea. And thanks for the support. :-) Remember my mom that one time? :-P

Thanks, babe, for the open invitation. I might just take you up on it anyway at some point, since I miss you.

*beats head on desk*

Parents can sometimes just need to have their tongues nailed to the tabletop. (Speaking from my own bitter experience as both a child and a parent.)

I'm sorry your dad is on such a roll.
