Thank you, PBS & BBC Americaext_189530January 9 2010, 09:11:54 UTC
Now you just have to get the kids hooked on all the other Brit shows so that they want to have tea parties and play croquet on their birthday (not that I was ever like that) All the British actors who can master an American accent come to the US and get lucrative TV series (Hugh Laurie, etc.)

Oh, I bet you're right! I hadn't thought of that.
The kids are already on their way, but I think they're just too American to achieve the high levels you and Leigh have reached -- not to mention that I'm far too ignorant to really bolster the effort. I still don't know the right way to say "scones," for one. But we are getting the lit front covered decently with Julia at least. We spent an hour once in Costco, discussing the merits of the various versions of Pride & Prejudice. You'll be happy to hear, she's an A & E fan, and dislikes the Kiera Knightley.
We're still working on Eli. She gets Jane Austen mixed up with Emma Watson.
And thanks to Leigh, we read Harry Potter only in "the original language." Heh.
