Room 438, Wednesday

The room was looking pretty bare as Dean worked on finishing up the last of his packing. There were two piles: the duffles he was taking with him, and the last load of stuff in boxes he was leaving down at the house in town.

"Hey."

She laughed. "Guess you won't know till you check it out."

"Like I need more incentive," Dean chuckled.

[darkangelsawyer]

She blushed a little. "Good point. So... you take care of yourself, okay? I don't want anything to happen to you. Just 'cause we're not together doesn't mean I don't care."

"Likewise," Dean said. "And I'm totally going to give any guy who get serious about the 'I know how to get rid of bodies as part of my job so don't mess up' speech."

She looked at him curiously for a moment, then her eyes widened and she laughed. "Oh great. 'Cause, you know, I have such good luck with guys to begin with."

"That's because you didn't have the Winchester vetting system," Dean told her confidently.

"You gonna be the Peyton Sawyer version of e-harmony?" she teased.

[saltandammo]

"Only if e-harmony's threatening to break the kneecaps of guys who fuck up," Dean replied.

Peyton laughed again. "Lovely. People think I'm more trouble than I'm worth already most of the time. This will be sure to help that."

"You're not more trouble than you're worth," Dean told her, turning serious again. "Far from it."

"I'm learning that," she said, equally serious. "Thank you."

"Anytime."

[darkangelsawyer]

She moved in to give him another tight hug. "I should let you go. I just hate to say goodbye."
