Room 438, Wednesday

The room was looking pretty bare as Dean worked on finishing up the last of his packing. There were two piles: the duffles he was taking with him, and the last load of stuff in boxes he was leaving down at the house in town.

And this would be Peyton leaning on the door frame watching him.

"Hey."

Dean turned around and smiled when he saw who it was. "Hey."

Peyton smiled back a little wistfully. "So, I heard a rumor you were leaving today and I couldn't let you go without saying goodbye."

"I'm glad. Saves me having to track you down before I go," Dean said. "Cause I wouldn't leave without saying goodbye."

Chuck made his way upstairs to Dean's room at some point during the day. He wasn't too good at this stuff but he couldn't not see him. It had been an event-filled year, after all.

"It looks weird in here now," Chuck said quietly, leaning against the door frame.

"Yeah, I was just thinking that," Dean said, glancing over his shoulder at Chuck, looking unsurprised to see him there. He kinda figured he'd show up before Dean left.

Or Dean would have had to go looking for him.

"Let's hope the next person in here doesn't have a stuffed animal collection and a love for the Jonas Brothers," Chuck joked. "The room might not be able to take it and rebel."

"Considering this is Fandom, that's entirely possible. "Though I don't think we've had rooms coming to life yet.

Claire made her way up to the fourth floor and stood in the doorway, frowning.

"I don't like this part."

"Yeah, gotta say it's never been my favorite either," Dean said wryly, stopping what he was doing to turn and face her. "Being the one that's leaving doesn't seem to make it appreciably easier either."

"Where are you headed?" Claire asked. "Anywhere exciting?"

"Sioux Falls, South Dakota," Dean replied with a grin. "Which is probably as exciting as it sounds. I'm picking up my best friend who's been getting some hunting specific training and then we'll be hitting the road. That will be the exciting part."

"Hey," Ben said quietly from the door.

"Hey," Dean replied, giving Ben a small smile. "Come to see me off?"

"If I say no, does that mean you stay?" Ben asked.

"Wish I could," Dean said. "But... you know how it is. Places to go, things to hunt."

Alice was fidgeting in the doorway. She told herself firmly not to fidget, but it didn't seem to be very effective, because she was, most certainly, fidgeting.

"So," she said, finding herself wishing that she were wearing the pinafore-and-apron. It was easier to twist one's hands into a pinafore-and-apron than it was jeans. "You ... seem to ... have everything packed."

"Yeah," Dean said, looking around the bare room again. "Only cause I started a week ago. It's kinda amazing how much stuff you can accumulate in three years."

"I would imagine so," Alice said, shrugging uncomfortably. "I arrived here with a suitcase and a cat, and I'd need far more to pack and leave, after only a year."

She gave him a sad sort of smile. "I'm not very good with this part."

"Me either," Dean said. "Not anymore. Kinda got used to not leaving, y'know?"
