If it is at all possible to be stricken speechless whilst one reads, I've just had it happen to me. If it's impossible...then I've just been subjected to the impossible ( ... )

Wow, thank you for that amazing feedback! :)

Really pleased you're enjoying it, and like that it's a bit different.

He seemed teetering on a steep slope all the time, desperately grasping for anything that would restore some semblence of "normal" for him.

That's exactly as I saw him too... I'm sure JD played him that way deliberately, and how could he not be traumatized by what happened??

Hope you continue enjoying the story. Chapter two coming later today...

Felt the cold burn of iron on me wrist and knew she’d played me for a fool; the cruel scorn in those eyes of hers stung worse than the shackles. Saw myself as she sees me, then; not a good man, not a man at all. Just a pirate, after all.

Poor Jack! Seems like this is going to be a very dark journey. Can't wait for more!

It'll get a little dark along the way, but all for a good cause! ;) More up later today, so hope you enjoy that too. :)

She’d often thought, in the years since, that she’d given no thought as to what Jack might have lost that day, or in the days preceding it.

Oh, Jack. I'm hoping this wonderful fic will give him something back.

Absolutely gorgeous, as always. I'm so glad you're posting a chapter a day - don't think I could bear the wait otherwise :-} Brava, love.

Thanks so much, glad you like it so far. :) I really felt Jack was suffering in AWE and it's been pretty interesting to explore in this - if a little dark at times!

Hope you continue to enjoy it - more up later today. :) (Adore your icon, btw!)

I love Will's petulance and his short memory of their piracy, how he wants Elizabeth to leave her career to settle down somewhere inland; her want to make things work with him is tangible and I love how torn she is between family and work.

And Jack! His palpatable madness left me cold.

This is fantastic. I can't wait till you update again.
