Today I was struck by the increasing number of insects in my yard. Every time I go out to work on my garden it seems that there are more and more. Its really a wonderful thing! I see tiny frogs all over the place and a few big frogs. It just seems like my garden is becoming a haven for insects and small amphibians and it makes me really happy. Last ( Read more... )

Aaahhh, that's awesome!

And see? You DO have a picture in your head that you make into a reality. The fact that it's not jewelry or a painting or something doesn't make it any less of a vision, right? :)

I didn't know that now is the time to plant all those veggies! I am going to ask joe to get started on the garden he's been planning so we can have broccoli and sweet potatoes and stuff too!

I think that conversation we all had last night inspired a lot of what I did today. I just suddenly got it that my personality goes into my garden. I never looked at it that way before.

Right now you should be planting broccoli, cauliflower, turnips, pumpkin, collards, turnips, snap beans, tomatoes, cukes, southern peas, watermelon and I think that is it. Sweet potatoes needed to be planted by june, but if you plant them now you might get a little bit. I just was listing what I added this week. You can wait for some of those things until as late a December but I like to get an early start especially cause I do most of my plants from seed.
