Just thought I'd share this with you, seeing as I can't get it out of my head without actually knowing the words either, which is really annoying.

It's probably only fair to warn you that it's by They Might Be Giants ;-)

I should also warn you that YouTube appears to have a whole lot more in this vein, so pray I stay busy!

I like to think there was some late-night conversation along the lines of:

John F: 'List songs' are easy. You just get a bunch of names and make sure the syllables fit. No challenge at all.

John L: Yeah? What about that 'Elements' song, that must have taken some doing...

JF: OK, but that's been done. What now?

JL: [Thinks while he drinks. Puts down bottle of absinthe with a flourish] Mesh... Mess... Mesopotamiansh!

JF: [starts wiki-ing] What?

JL: Ancient Middle-Eastern guys. All had names like 'Golgafrincham' and shit. Try getting all those in a song, smart-ass!

JF: Fuck. [Finishes wiki-ing] And now they call it...

JL: What?

JF: I-raq.

[pause]

JF: There's no way we can not do this, is there?
