~*~ I burned my finger a little on a MOSFET today. O.O I so did not know that those things can get so hot.

~*~ Hey Baron Browne of Madingley just popped up on my news feed, which reminds me: my Solid-State Devices prof is a hardcore solar power (and also LED lighting) evangelist. One day about two week ago, he spent an entire lecture pimping solar ( Read more... )

What's a MOSFET? *blinks*

LED lighting is cool. Actually, LED anything is cool. I'd get LED everything, but I'm a broke high school student. :(

yuuup. mosfets can actually blow from too much voltage. that's why there are supply voltage limitations. power fets do that a lot when they get old.

the waste by-products and energy costs of making solar cells are pretty high ><;; but it's probably worth it. it is true that there will be future oil deposits and improvements in oil tech, but i think energy companies fail to grasp that, fundamentally, oil is finite. oops.

LED lighting is cool but kinda harsh on the eyes, many different/higher frequencies than a soft lightbulb. i'm not sure if i can convince my family to go LED, but maybe i should try. oh, and they're initially more costly, but most consumers never think about the long term.
